    TURKIYE – IRAQ ROUND TABLE MEETING

    TOBB Vice President and İSTİB President Ali Kopuz participated in the Türkiye–Iraq Round Table Meeting.

    Speaking at the meeting held at the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) Headquarters, President Kopuz stated:

    “We are proud of the level of development Iraq has achieved today. We all know there is significant potential in many areas, including energy, construction and infrastructure, agriculture, technology, and education. If the current challenges can be overcome, our mutual trade will diversify and increase even further.”

    Highlighting the importance of Iraq's full membership in the TIR (Transports Internationaux Routiers, International Road Transport)  as a crucial step for opening up the Iraqi economy to the world, Kopuz said:

    “In this regard, it is essential for the TIR to become operational in Iraq as soon as possible. We are closely monitoring the efforts with the International Road Transport Union and are ready to provide all necessary support.”
