OCTOBER - DECEMBER 2019 RED MEAT PRODUCTION STATISTICS ANNOUNCED

TUIK announced the results of the Red Meat Production Statistics for the fourth quarter of 2019.
As a result of the data announced on February 11, 2020, total red meat production was estimated as 291 thousand 565 tons, increasing by 12,3% compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
Compared to the previous annual total, it increased by 7,4% and was estimated as 1 million 201 thousand 469 tons. In the fourth quarter, the total amount of red meat produced only in slaughterhouses was 158 thousand 911 tons.
Beef production increased by 9.5% compared to the same quarter of the previous year. Beef production was estimated at 262 thousand 476 tons. On the other hand, sheep meat production increased by 45.9% to 26 thousand 123 tons and goat meat production increased by 57.5% to 2 thousand 967 tons
