    Stating that the 50-point interest rate cut decision taken by the Central Bank Monetary Policy Committee was correct, President of Istanbul Commodity Exchange Ali Kopuz said, “If you pay attention, there was a gradual reduction in the interest rate reduction process that started in July 2019.

     

    The interest rate, which was 24 percent on 25 July 2019, dropped to 19.75 with a 425 basis point reduction. The interest rate has decreased to 10.75 percent today with the subsequent and gradually decreasing discount rates. In other words, interest rates have dropped 1325 basis points in the last six months. ”
