Democracy and Freedoms Island was put into service

After the military coup of 27 May 1960; The project whose foundation was laid in 2015 was completed in order to protect and renovate the buildings with historical and cultural values in Yassıada and Sivriada, where Prime Minister Adnan Menderes, Foreign Minister Fatin Rüştü Zorlu and Finance Minister Hasan Polatkan were executed. It was built with the build-operate-transfer model in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, TOBB and GTİ.
Democracy and Freedoms Island was put into service by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
