19 May is the beginning of Anatolia’s Resurrection Movement
(18.05.2020 . 10:53:47) (Okuma: 220)
"May 19, 1919 is the date when Anatolia's resurrection began," said Ali Kopuz, President of the Istanbul Commodity Exchange, on the occasion of the 19th of May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day.
Reminding that the occupied country was completely cleared of occupying forces within three years after this day, which is the beginning of the National Struggle for independence, President Ali Kopuz said, “A tired but faithful army led by Gazi Mustafa Kemal, a young commander, has successfully completed the National Struggle. Therefore, it is not a coincidence that May 19 is also a youth festival.
On May 19, 1919, the first spark of the torch of independence that brought the Turkish Nation to this day shined. It is our youth who will carry this torch into the future.
"I commemorate the veterans and martyrs of our National Struggle, which has the greatest share in our lives in an independent and honorable country, and congratulate our 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day with all my heart."
