We welcomed the year 2020, with the big project which is Turkey's dream. We also closed 2019 with the wave of excitement created by this project. President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan did personally on December 27, 2019 Turkey's car publicity. Our dreams will real and Turkish business world showed once more what they can do when we trusted them. As the President of Istanbul Commodity Exchange, I was there and experienced this great enthusiasm. Especially the President said “We have pursued this dream for nearly 60 years.” The story of the trial of the first domestic automobile “DEVRIM”, but also as an example of how that transformed into a nightmare to us our dreams "We understand thoroughly what you say when they plot against Turkey.” We became aware of how the some foreign power groups local collaborators prevented  Turkish engineers and  the Turkish entrepreneurs.

What hurted me was the President's told event:

“When the action is taken for the “DEVRIM” car, a campaign called ‘Turks cannot produce cars is launched. What is interesting is that the Minister of Industry of the time also participated in this campaign. Those who say that the domestic car cannot be produced technologically and that there is not enough market have welcomed the automobile factories established by Western companies in our country after a few years. Whereas, precisely at a time when the car market started to recover what if this undertaking was successfully implemented, Turkey would be in a completely different place today.”

If Turkey had been able to continue producing aircraft in 1940 and started producing cars in the 1960s, we would have one of the world's largest economies today. Unfortunately, in 2002, we were able to talk about the targets of domestic automobiles and domestic aircraft. But this time the situation was very different. Once again we saw at Presentation ceremony that Turkey is in unity and solidarity in domestic automobile production with all stakeholders. The unrestricted support of our President and our state paved the way for “brave fellows” and gave all kinds of opportunities to their orders.

So we were able to regain our lost hopes and dreams. We have regained our self-confidence. No one doubts that we will succeed this time. Turkey's Automobile Enterprise Group, which created under the leadership of Mr. Rıfat Hisarcıklıoğlu, are committed and determined this time... The Turkish people give them a great support of 97,6 percent; 89 percent of our people want to buy. It also reveals that, Turkey protects the value of its own production and its own car.

As the President Rifat Hisarciklioglu said, Turkey's automobile is more than a car. Technological transformation, the transition to digital economy. Above all, it is the most powerful and concrete example of what our nation can do when they want. In this enthusiastically entered the year 2020, we, as members of the business world, should support the excitement of local automobile by signing innovations in our own field. If we work resolutely and with determination, I believe that with this determination,  21st century will be the century of Turkey.
